Happy Halloween

What a great night for Trick or Treating. The weather was nice and nobody was sick. Allison went trick or treating with her friends this year which we were not real excited about, but she was responsible and had a great time. Everyone got a lot of candy and will probably be up all night.

Smart cars

I took the kids to a Smart car rally. It was fun to see all the cars together.

This was my favorite car. Check out the actual size on the front of the car (very funny)
The girls liked the ladybug car.
The boys like the blue car. The Rally was sponsored by a radio station. They went to a few places around town and had some tours. The cars all parked at the garden and got tours through the garden.
The cars liked backing up into their parking spots. Must be easy to park a small car.

Bee's Bee's lots of bees!

We have a great garden this year. Things are growing like crazy. Certainly the pumpkins, I think we may get around 15.
We think these little bees have something to do with it. This is what it looks like in the back of the yard at the bottom of a shed which is in the neighbors yard. The bees have turned this hole into a honey hive. It is cool to watch them fly in and out. We don't want to kill them cause they are doing good but it is a pain with that many bees back there. The kids are good at just staying away from them. We've only had one kid stung. We will go through the winter and see what has happened to them next year and then we'll decide what to do. But for right now hurray for the bees.

Quilt Blocks

I have always wanted to make a quilt. I do not know how to quilt or even how to start until my friend Stephanie asked me if I wanted to be in a quilt block group. What this entailed was to make 10 blocks of two different blocks 20 in all. I decided this would be a great way to get started. Thanks to many people helping me I finally finished my 20 blocks. I had a great time making them.
The hardest part was finding time that I could work on it. the only way to get it done was to keep my sewing machine up in the corner of the kitchen so I could work on it when I had a free min. That worked out ok except for the boys always getting into my stuff. We had a few cuts on the boys from my rotary cutter and the boys broke my machine so I had to get that fixed half way through, but it sure worked good after getting it back. Other then that it was great. Here is some picture of my blocks I will keep two of these blocks and then will get 8 more from some other women. then I'll have to figure out how to put it all together. Hopefully sometime I will be able to post a picture of the quilt when it is done.

Big Budah

A few weeks ago Court came home and said that his work (Jordan Valley Water) was doing a piece with Channel 13 talking about water conservation. He told me they needed a house to film in. I told him I'd be fine with it in our house since it would be a fun experience. The next week was spent cleaning cleaning and more cleaning. It is not very often when your bathroom is going to be on tv.

Big Budah is an anchor man for channel 13 and he is allways somewhere doing a live broadcast somewhere. During the the news they will go to him about 8 times different times to talk to him.

Big Budah and his camera man were at our house about 5:45 in the morning. There were about 8 pieces filmed in different areas in and out of my house talking about different water saving facts. It was all done live so I found it very interesting how it was all not rehearsed. He would have to come up with more or less depending on how long they were telling him he had. there were different people from different water districts along with Courtney talking to him.

We all had a fun day especially the kids who had some friends who had watched the news to see them.(of course they had to be in the background some time). Laurens teacher even went to the extent to bring a tv in the classroom and let the kids watch the news while it was on. (We let the girls go an hour late to school)

I can see the E!

Those that have known me a long time know how long I've had glasses. Lets just say I don't remember not having glasses. I've worn glasses until I was about 13 or so then I got contacts. They were great and I loved them. I have always thought Lasik would be a great thing to have done. I am so blind. When I went to the eye doctor to get my eyes checked for lasik they showed me the E (The big E )and said what can you see, I could not see anything. Deep down I knew Lasik would be great but am a bit of a chicken and it made me a bit scared to mess with my eyes. So I never really thought I would do it.

Thanks to Court who really wanted me to get it done I decided to go for it. When I went to my appointment for the doctor to see if I was a candidate I saw a big jar full of glasses where people had donated their glasses that they no longer needed. I thought I would love to someday put my glasses in there. I am happy to say I put my glasses in that jar this week. I got lasik a month ago and all went well. The good thing about not having glasses is I can see when I wake up in the morning, Packing for trips is easier, and many other great things. I also noticed that the traffic lights are not made up of one green light. The green light is made up of lots of little lights. Don't laugh I've never seen that before, but don't worry I could see the traffic light though. The bad things are I can see when the shower gets dirty, and more crumbs on the floor. Those of you who have thought about Lasik it is great. It's so quick and does not hurt at all.

Allisons Birthday party!

Allison is turning 12 this week. My how the time has flew. I remember when we just had her. She is a fabulous daughter.

For Allisons birthday party we had a scavengar hunt at the mall (Thanks Mitzi and Kendall for the idea). I would have to say it was one of the funnest parties. The kids had so much fun. They were given clues and had to find different items in the mall. To my surprise those girls knew the mall very well.
We love you Allison and hope you have a great Birthday.

Bad hair day

Sunday was obviously a bad hair day. The funny thing was I did not know this. I got into church and had two friends attack me by fixing some hair that was sticking up. ( I think I must of bent down when getting out of the van and messed my hair up) I thought my hair was then fixed and then Lauren passes me a not which says(if you can't read it)

"Mom your hair is sticking up a little bit." "It's supposed to look good"

It was so funny. I wanted to laugh out loud. I then had to leave to the bathroom to check it out myself.

What a beautifull day

It seems that I've been spending a lot more time on facebook then blogging. I decided since I've been bugged by a few people that I better get a new post going.

The weather is getting nicer this week in Northern Utah. Well at least the last few day have been above 30. It has been nice to let the boys go play outside and get some of that energy out.

Last summer I talked Court into letting me use my babysitting money and get a big swingset. I have always wanted a big swingset for the boys to climb all over. This has been the perfect swingset for that. Court and my dad did a great job putting it together .

I think it will be a great summer because Campbell started to pump his legs when swinging. How nice that is. Campbell and Cannon are such great boys. They are lots of fun. They love playing together and they both love to give mom hugs ( I wonder how long that will last?)

Socks,socks,socks

I have found with 7 people in the house we accumulate a lot of socks. This is my least favorite job, sock sorting. For you mothers who are just starting out I would suggest you to get all your socks at one store. then you do not have millions of different kinds of socks. Walmart has some awesome ones that are have colored heels to tell you the size. For example blue heel is small etc etc...

Enough of my rambling I better go sort some socks.

The timer

I have found that I can get side tracked very easy. For example, I go down to the toy room to clean it up and I find a sippy cup. I take the sippy cup up stairs and while I'm in the kitchen I see that the dishes need to be done. I start doing the dishes and I see that there are dishes on the table. As I go to get them I trip on Cannons nerf gun. Then I take the gun and down to the toy room and start cleaning up in the toy room again.

Yes I think I'm losing it. I do not remember being so scatter brained. Since I end up all over the house and not getting much done I've decided using a timer works the best for me kinda like what fly lady has you use. I will set the timer for ten min. and stay in one room until the timer rings. Wow it really works. I can actually get things cleaned up. I hope I'm not the only one with this problem.

I hate to say it but I think I'm getting older or maybe it's having five or more kids in the house. Here is another example of my scatter brain. I called Court at work and as the phone was ringing I saw something across the room so I put the phone down and went and did it. I totally forgot I was calling someone. A few min. later the phone started beeping cause it was off the hook. So I put the phone back on the hook and did think for a second I think I need to call Court. No need for that , Court called a few min. later asking if everything was ok cause when he answered the phone when I called him nobody was there except for a house of people talking. I told him the story and we got a good laugh. Oh well I think I may be losing my marbles and if that's the case I'm going to have a hard time finding them in this house.
